INDICT 47 UNAUTHORIZED SENATORS UNDER THE LOGAN ACT
47 Senators, led by Cotton and Cruz (two Harvard lawyers) unlawfully interfered with ongoing negotiations to forestall Iran’s development of a nuke by sending a letter to the leaders of Iran to quash negotiations – open letter. Five other governments have joined with America’s efforts: Russia, China, Germany, France and the UK.
Why has the media (with ownership concentrated in the hands of Republicans) not referenced the Hatch Act. Wonder why, think neo con military industrial profiteers licking their lips hoping for a new conflict in Iran.
The Logan Act (1 Stat. 613, 30 January 1799, currently codified at 18 U.S.C. § 953) is a United States federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. It was passed in 1799 and last amended in 1994. Violation of the Logan Act is a felony, punishable under federal law with imprisonment of up to three years.
The Act was intended to prohibit United States citizens without authority from interfering in relations between the United States and foreign governments. And this explains why the GOP Congressional blockade of the people’s work is unlawful as it empirically constitutes Seditious Conspiracy.
We the people need to voice our outrage and get rid of all these un-American idiots in Congress. And Eric Holder and President Obama should bring charges for this latest act of lunacy and Sedition on the part of 47 Senators who recklessly abandoned any sense of how our Republic is supposed to function in their continuing racist attack on the President of the United States of America.
This is inexcusable and it is time to establish additional legal precedent for following the Constitutional authority granted to any President. Although this will not be pretty, it is time to have an appropriate confrontational cluster fuck over who negotiates with foreign governments — Mitch McConnell and Tom Cotton, the jerk from Arkansas, or our duly elected Constitutional scholar President and our Secretary of State?
Furthermore, it is time to stop the overt actions of the Tea Turd creationist primitive Christian Koch paid pawns to overturn the Voting Rights Act in the shadow of the 50th anniversary of Selma.
How much more egregious lunacy can thinking Americans take?
